Once a system is designed and the client is happy to proceed, Air Improve Limited can begin the process of installing the equipment. We install all types of air conditioning and ventilation systems throughout the whole of the UK. Each system is very different to the next one depending on the environment it is due to be used in, frequency of use and also what the general requirements for the system are, i.e. to cool only, or cool and heat etc (as explained above in ‘Design’).

The Sales Engineer who you deal with will make sure you get the right system for your requirements every time and is qualified to answer any questions you may have. Accredited by HVCA, Safe Contractor, Construction Line and Refcom, Air Improve is fully qualified to give you the best advice possible.

While most of our installation work comprises of Daikin equipment, we also deal with Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, Samsung and Toshiba to name but a few. There is not really a brand of air conditioning we haven’t installed!

Case Study

re SAS International Ltd.

Recently this major manufacturer of ceiling products relocated their headquarters building to a new purpose built Industrial Unit on the same site as their existing premises in Reading. Air Improve were asked to provide a solution to their ventilation and cooling/heating needs. The new premises consisted of a large warehouse with a three storey office area, and various other rooms and welfare facilities, WC’s etc., all of which required different levels of ventilation and cooling/heating demands.

Air Improve designed, with the help of Daikin UK, a solution consisting of various Daikin systems. The main offices were served by a new Modular Heat Recovery Air Handler, complete with thermal wheel and heat pump ERQ condensers, with insulated ductwork leading to all areas, and fed into the back of new fan coil units. All condensers were located at the rear of the building and fitted with trays to carry condensate away from the sloping car park area.

All rooms and open plan areas were fitted with ducted fan coil units from four separate VRV air conditioning systems. These led to new SAS ceiling grilles to distribute the conditioned air throughout the three floors.

Core areas, WC’s and shower rooms were provided with separate heat recovery ventilation VAM and Modular Light units, and kept warm using electric heater batteries. Their main server room had two separate wall mounted air conditioning systems fitted and used on an automatic run and standby basis.

A Daikin iManager central controller was also installed so that all systems could be monitored from one location, and AC systems controlled and settings input to provide full 24/7 timer control and max/min temperatures set throughout the building, to avoid energy wastage.

Case Study Hammersmith

After being left empty for a few years we were asked to refresh two floors of One King Street in Hammersmith. The first floor was a complete shell and we had to start from scratch with new Dakin VRV air conditioning systems and ductwork. Air Improve designed the new heat recovery ventilation system to allow for maximum flexibility in the future if the floor ever needed to be split up for different tenants.

The client wanted an industrial look to the office space so concealed floor standing units were selected so they could be blended into the open plan layout on the first floor. The air handling unit (AHU) on the roof provides fresh air throughout the open plan office through a central duct.

Stroke Association

The Head Office for the Stroke Association in London recently required a refurbishment of their premises. We worked with Advanced Interior Solutions to complete this refurbishment. There w as a tight program to finish each phase and to not miss deadlines, as the Stroke Association had to move back into the office within a fixed time period, at the end of the project.

Air Improve were asked to review the existing air conditioning on site as the Stroke Association had cooling issues with their existing 3 VRV systems. After completing the heat calculation and looking at their existing systems it became evident that the current air conditioning systems were under sized and struggling to cope with the loads during the peak of the summer.

We designed new Air Conditioning systems for the 11,000 Sq Ft Office. The air conditioning capacity was increased by almost 40% from the original installation to keep all the office spaces at the desired temperature throughout the year. Throughout the property there was a mixture of open plan areas, offices, meeting rooms and phone booths. To accommodate all theses spaces Air Improve installed a mixture of heat pump and heat recovery Mitsubishi Electric VRF systems to allow for individual controls in certain areas but also to keep the project within budget. All the new systems run off R410a with some of the industrys’ highest SCOP’s & SEER’s.

To give the Stroke Association the cleanest look we installed ducted units throughout, linked to swirl diffusers in the new 600x600 suspended ceiling grid in the Annexe Area and within the Breakout Area the ceiling was removed and sprayed to give the space an industrial look.

There was no existing fresh air to the office space and only some extract fans. Along with the air conditioning systems installed, nine new Mitsubishi Electric Fresh Air Lossnay Units were fitted throughout to provide >2000l/s fresh air, and ensure that all the employees were getting the fresh air they needed all year round, and to comply with Building Regulations. In addition new toilet/shower extract systems were installed to the new communal area in the basement. A Mitsubishi Central Controller was fitted to give full control of all the air conditioning units and the fresh air systems from a single location on site. This makes it easier to see the status of all the units on site as well as setting up and managing the 7 day timing schedules.
